Virginia Kok died of natural causes at 6:20 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
She was born on Aug. 25, 1926, in Muhlenburg County to Lyman Thomas and Johnnie Wallis Baggett.
Virginia graduated from Augusta Tilghman High School in 1945 and was office manager for W.B. Kennedy Tobacco Co. and was retired from D.N. Cole, Inc. of Richmond, Va. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was a family genealogist having written history of the Baggett family called “A Dozen Baggetts Remember.” She loved to travel and enjoyed gardening.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Rev. James D. Bagget, William Lewis Baggett and John Paul Baggett.
She is survived by five brothers, Thomas Baggett of Columbia, Mo., Frank Baggett of Paducah, Wallace Baggett of Nashville, Tenn., Robert L. Baggett of Lexington and Ralph Baggett of Fairfax, Va.; one sister, Dean Peniche of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Janet Kok of Richmond, Va.; and one son, Karel Kok of Paducah. Music will be provided by Steve Skaggs, vocalist.
