Funeral services for Dorothy “Dot” Claiborne, 87, of Cramerton, N.C., formerly of Cadiz, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville. Visitation is scheduled from 12:30 until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. Burial will follow in the Greenhill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville. Goodwin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy Claiborne died of natural causes on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Stanley Total Living Center in Stanley, N.C.

She was born on Nov. 26, 1924, in Hopkinsville to Dallas McKinley and Rosa Shelby Austin.

Dorothy Claiborne was a member of Cadiz Baptist Church where she was an adult Sunday school teacher. She was also a homemaker.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Claiborne, Jr.; her parents, Dallas McKinley and Rosa Shelby Austin; two brothers, William and Douglas Austin; one sister, Bess Clardy; and one son, Harold Edward Claiborne.

She is survived by one son, Robert A. Claiborne, Sr. (and wife Eleanor) of Belmont, N.C.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
