Funeral services for Richard Braxton, 67, of Gracey, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Gamble Funeral Home in Hopkinsville. The Revs. Henry Russell, Demetrius Russell and Kenneth Wharton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Rocky Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 5 – 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at the funeral home. Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Richard Braxton died of natural causes at 7:42 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at his home.

He was born on June 25, 1945, in Christian County to the late Thomas Braxton, Sr. and the late Magdulene Morrison Braxton.

Richard was a member of Rocky Ridge Baptist Church. He was employed by John W. McAtee Farm.

He is survived by his wife Norma J. Bridges Braxton of Gracey; step-mother, Nora Braxton of Hopkinsville; six brothers, Thomas Braxton, Jr. of Hopkinsville, George Mack (and wife Margie) of Cadiz, Allen Russell (and wife Vina) of Hopkinsville, Rev. Larry Russell (and wife Linda) of Hopkinsville, Raymond Russell of Hopkinsville and Thomas D. Braxton of Hopkinsville; one sister, Teresa Russell of Cadiz; one step-sister, Doris Brown of Hopkinsville.
