Chapter 1730 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) met on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Trigg County Senior Citizens Center.

President Gloria Frenette conducted the meeting. Jim Mustian gave the invocation, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The Chapter voted to increase the chapter dues by two dollars per year.

Richard Pauze, Legislative Chair, reported on his conversation with Senator Mitch McConnell. Pauze asked McConnell to protect federal employees and their benefits. Pauze also quoted several articles dealing with the anticipated budget cuts and how that may affect federal retirees.

Jim Mustian gave the Treasurer’s Report. President Gloria Frenette asked for nominations for a new chapter president for 2013. Richard Pauze was unanimously nominated for the position. Pauze accepted the nomination and in addition to being legislative chair will serve as Chapter President beginning January 2013. The other chapter officers will continue to serve in 2013.

The NARFE Christmas Dinner location has not been decided at this point. Several area restaurants are under consideration.
