The Trigg County Republican Party Executive Committee met Monday evening to choose several names for their list of who should replace Trigg County Judge Executive and soon-to-be District One State Senator Stan Humphries.

Betty Sue Howard of the Trigg County Republican Party Executive Committee said they chose several people after having been in contact with them. Those names had not been released at press time.

Howard said that although Beshear is a Democrat, he is undoubtedly aware of the great job Humphries has done as Judge Executive, something Trigg Countians are also aware of.

“We feel certain that the Governor will look t the Republican list as well as the Democrat list and will weigh each in a fair and considerate manner,” Howard said. “Of course, we hope that the Governor chooses  someone from our list, but we are realistic and understand that he may choose along party lines.”
