Funeral services for Kathy Stevenson, 80, of Bowling Green, formerly of Cadiz, were held on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at King’s Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Rev. Geoff Baggett officiated. Burial followed in the Pleasant Grove Memorial Park in Murphysboro, Ill. King’s Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Kathy Stevenson died of natural causes at 2:40 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at the Medical Center of Bowling Green.

Kathy was born on July 21, 1932, in Gorham, Ill., to the late Walter Everette and Carrie Mae Mankin Demster.

Kathy was a member of Crossroads Fellowship Church. She was also a member of the Kentucky Schools Nurses Association and the National Association of School Nurses; Recipient of the KSHA Honor Award in 1981 and the National Association of School Nurses Award 1986. Kathy retired from Warren County Public Schools where she was employed as a nurse.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert L. “Bob” Stevenson; and two sisters, Virginia Graham and Maxine Smith.

She is survived by two brothers, Phillip J. Demster of Memphis, Tenn. and Walter E. Demster (and wife Leola) of Lakeland, Fla.; one son, Doug Stevenson of Bowling Green; three daughters, Jeanne Rolett (and husband Bill) of Bowling Green, Lisa Stevenson and Robert Turner of Bowling Green and Lori Conyers (and husband Bob) of Franklin, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, Brad Ausbrooks of Bowling Green, and Stephen and Rebekah Ausbrooks of Louisville.

Serving as pallbearers were Bill Rolett, Robert Turner, Bob Conyers, Brad Ausbrooks, Stephen Ausbrooks and David Demster. Music was provided by Robin Stevens, vocalist and pianist and Stacie Kline, vocalist.
