Funeral services for Jesse Burnett, 71, of West Paducah, formerly of Cadiz, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Revs. John Burnett and Glenn Farmer will officiate. Burial with full military honors will be in the Burgess Cemetery in Christian County. Goodwin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Jesse Burnett died of natural causes at 12:20 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at his residence.

Jesse Burnett was born on Friday, Nov. 14, 1941, in Cadiz to John Thomas and Nora Mae Burgess Burnett.

Jesse was a member of Heartland Baptist Church in Paducah. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He was also a member of the American Legion and Singles Club.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Joyce Farmer Burnett; two brothers, Lean Burnett and Luther William Burnett; two sisters, Stella Mae Hancock and Nora Catherine Tunnell; and one great-grandchild, Tommy Travis.

He is survived by one brother, Richard Burnett of Atlanta, Ga.; two sons, Gary Keith Burnett of Vine Grove and Jeffery Dean Burnett of Paducah; one daughter, Sheri Miller of Paducah; six grandchildren, BJ Travis, Michael Burnett, Bethany Miller, Brandon Davidson, Jessica Burnett and Katie Burnett; and seven great-grandchildren, Hunter Sinks, Emma Travis, Gunner Sinks, Phoenix Rashella, Madison Rashella, Shade Davidson and Wyatt Davidson.
