The Trigg County Republican Party’s Executive Committee sent its list of three names to Governor Steve Beshear for the position of Trigg County Judge Executive last week.

Steve Darnall, Jim Kilcoyne and Barry Littlejohn were named, said Trigg County Republican Party Vice Chair Betty Sue Howard, who went on to say that they met with all three candidates the week before the names were announced.

Beshear will appoint someone after current Trigg County Judge Executive Stan Humphries – who won in the race for District One State Senator against Carroll Hubbard in the General Election – after Humphries submits his resignation. He will be sworn in as State Senator on Jan. 8.

Littlejohn is the current District Two Magistrate for the Trigg County Fiscal Court, a position he has held for six years. He chairs the county’s building and grounds committee and sits on its budget committee and the emergency services committee.

A press release states that he worked for 27 days with the Kentucky Disaster Relief during the early 2009 ice storm and retired from the Barkley Lake Water District after 30 years, including 18 years as the water district superintendent. He is a member and a Deacon at Canton Baptist Church.
