Funeral services for Mary Allison Mize, 76, of Cadiz, were held on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at King’s Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Revs. Dr. Hilda Bentley and Steve Spitzer officiated. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery in Hopkinsville.

Mary Allison died of natural causes at 7:10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

She was born on May 8, 1936, in Christian County to James Edward Smith and Katie May Carloss Smith.

Mary Allison was a member of the Cadiz United Methodist Church. She was a secretary for the Corps of Engineers and a homemaker. She served as the church pianist and organist at Shiloh United Methodist Church for over 40 years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Mize; and two brothers, James Carloss Smith and George Leslie Smith.

Mary Allison is survived by one brother, Charles Edward Smith (and wife Juanita) of Cropwel, Ala.; several nieces and nephews; and one dear friend, Pam Metts of Cadiz.

Serving as pallbearers were David Mize, Randall Mize, Kevin Mize, Forrest Goodman, Bill Stallons and Buddy Harris. Music was provided by Karen Mize, pianist.
