Forty-plus people were gathered at Reva’s Place in downtown Cadiz last Thursday night, yet a small girl caught my heart and sight. She sat across the table from my wife and I. What she had to say caused me to both celebrate and cry.
She didn’t have any drama from her day at school, certainly nothing about clothes or some cool shoes. She looked straight ahead with a boldness we all need and said the words that brought me to my knees.
“Guess what? I’ve been saved.” She is saved from Hell, overcoming Death and the Grave.
It was all great. We sang and ate and prayed. Testimonies of many for family members being saved. Children now in church. Prayers for others who still await for their own like this little girl to enter Heaven’s gates. Because Jesus is the only truth, the life, the way for us to escape a burning Hell and be saved.
What better way to celebrate Jesus’ birthday than like this child, to be able to say, “Guess what? I’ve been saved.”
