With heavy hearts, Trigg County High School wrestlers took to the mat Saturday and finished fourth out of 17 teams at a meet in McGavock, Tenn.

The meet began shortly after Trigg wrestlers were informed of Saturday morning’s accident that claimed four lives, including a 2013 TCHS senior.

Trigg head coach Ralph Stevens gave special thanks to coaches and wrestlers from Hopkinsville, who he said prayed with Trigg wrestlers after they were informed of the tragedy.

“Our guys decided they wanted to wrestle in honor of those kids,” Stevens said. “It’s the best wrestling meet Trigg County has had in years.”

Nine wrestlers made the trip, led by two who won in their weight class – Jerimiah Kline at 120 pounds and Aaron Stevens at 220. Both held records of 16-0 after Saturday’s meet.

Colten Livingston finished third, and Matt Chinn, Ryan Gallogly and Daniel Ingram each finished fourth.
