This is to you Santa. Each year I ask you for a few things that are sports related. Since time is running out, I thought I had better get on with it.

Please do your best to deliver this year. I will even break my request down to different sports to make it easier for you to sort out.

Basketball

I would really like a district championship for my team this year if possible.

I would also like it if you could find my three D’s a place to play ball in college. Of course I am talking about Deonquez, David and Dee.

While I am on basketball Santa, I want to thank you for an early gift that you gave me. That would be the gift of an unselfish basketball team that plays so hard. Hey Santa, I almost forgot. Thank you for another early gift. I am talking about the basketball parents. They have been the epitome of nice, positive and supportive. Yeah Santa I know it is only December but here’s wishing for a positive year all year. Man Santa come to think of it you have given me so many early gifts. Thanks so much for giving the Wildcats and me the best student section in Western Kentucky. Yeah, thanks Santa for the BLACK HOLE. Thanks for my new assistant coach Rex Booth also Santa. He has been one special gift to our basketball program.

Cross-Country

Santa, this gift is a little different. I am just asking you to let Coach Theresa Wilson know that she was the best CC assistant coach ever. Also Santa I wish that you would let my cross-country runners know how much I love and appreciate all of them.

Golf

OK Santa, the gift I want here is simply help with my game. I would like some lessons from local golfing great Matt Rogers. But Santa could I make a stipulation on this request. Sometimes when I play golf with Matt he is a little sarcastic about my game. One time he told me we were going to play a new game he made up. He said he got one point for every birdie he made and I got one point for every ball I lost. He then said he didn’t think he could beat me at that. I’m not sure Santa but I don’t think that was nice. So could you make those lessons void of any scarasm?

Also, Santa. You know those big rivalry matches that George Radford and I have Jim Wallace and Steve Allen? Could you gift-wrap Radford and I a winning streak? We have not done so well lately. As a matter of fact could you give Wallace and Allen the gift of a little humility? I think their winning streak has gone to their head. (and from there to their mouths)

Fitness

Santa, I really need help here. I am asking that you help me to work out and lose at least 30 pounds in the New Year. I would really like to beat Ken Cowell and Dan Quick in a road race sometime in the near future as well.

Adventure Sports

OK Santa, it is only appropriate that I end here. I really want this gift. Please give my canoe buddy Mike McGill and I a safe trip down Little River this spring. Please don’t include any snakes, bluffs, ravines or cornfields on the trip…..AND ONE MORE THING SANTA…..COULD YOU HAVE SOME LIGHTS INSTALLED IN OUR CANOE JUST IN CASE. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Enthusiasm Makes the Difference.
