EDDYVILLE – The Trigg County Lady Wildcats made more free throws than field goals in Friday’s 56-21 loss at 5th District foe Lyon County.

Trigg shot 5-for-39 (12.8 percent) from the field, including 1-for-9 from three point range while making 10-of-18 free throws. The Lady ‘Cats cut an early 10-point gap to six, but the Lady Lyons answered with 11 straight points and never led by less than 15 points the rest of the way.

No Trigg player scored in double figures – Jakashea Martin led the way with six points, followed by Mallory Mize and Allison Russell with five apiece. Jessica Lovdahl led all players with 10 rebounds.

Trigg (0-5, 0-3 in district) was scheduled to play Webster County last Tuesday, but the game was canceled, and it is unknown if it will be rescheduled.

The Lady ‘Cats played Tuesday at Dawson Springs (results unavailable at press time) and, along with the boys team, will co-host the 2012 Kentucky Machine & Engineering Christmas Classic this week.
