Private services and burial for Cyril Miller, Jr., 88, of Louisville, formerly of Cadiz, will be held at a later date. Arch L. Heady and Son at Westport Village in Louisville is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Miller died on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, in Louisville.

He was born on Oct. 16, 1924, in Golden Pond to Cyril and Minnie Miller, Sr. Cyril enlisted in the United States Navy, right after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, where he served in the Pacific Fleet during WWII. Following the Navy, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served for 24 years. In the Marines, he served in the 1st Marine Division, and was involved in the Battle of Chosin Reservoir during the Korean Conflict. Cyril was also a volunteer at the Louisville Zoo for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Suziko Ozaki Miller; two brothers, John Gordon Miller and Hugh Miller, Sr.; one sister, Mary Miller Bacon; and one son, John C. Miller.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Susan Rose (and husband Corey); three grandsons, Michael and Jacob Rose and Brandon Lawrence; as well as many neices and nephew.
