In this season of Thanksgiving and Christmas joys, we often pause to give thanks for family, friends, good health and many personal blessings. I would like to add my thanks for the dedicated staff and professionals in the Emergency Room of the Trigg County Hospital.
Recently, I went to the ER at Trigg County Hospital with symptoms of chest pains and an irregular heart beat. The staff quickly diagnosed my problem as a “heart event” and had Bill Woods and Jason Wade transport me to St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. for further evaluation and treatment. In a few days, I returned to Cadiz ever mindful of my good luck of having a local ER with an attending ambulance service available for emergencies and a staff dedicated to handle emergencies. I hate to think what may have been the result of my “heart event” if the ER and ambulance was located 20- 40 miles away.
Trigg County Hospital’s Emergency Room and Ambulance Service are vital parts of our community, and they deserve more thanks than we give them. Our hospital may not have multiple floors, extended wings and a parking garage, but it does have a staff with an unbending desire and ability to serve our community in an emergency. For such dedication I say, “Thanks, and may your holiday season be blessed.”
