I hope this is the happiest year for everyone. One way to make your year happier is with a good book or two or four. “Pam’s Pick” this week is “Shiver” by Karen Robards, this is a romantic suspense thriller. When Samantha swore off love, he was the last man she imagined would steal her heart.

New Fiction: “The Twelve Tribes of Hattie” by Ayana Mathis, this is an Oprah Book Club pick. This is the story of the children of the Great Migration, a story of love and bitterness and the promise of a new America.

“The First Prophet” by Kay Hooper, this is the first book in the new Bishop Files novels. Sarah woke from a coma with psychic abilities she couldn’t control. When her house is destroyed by fire she soon learns she can trust no one. Who is out to get her and why?

“Running Wild” by Linda Howard and Linda Jones, this is the first book in the Men from Battle Ridge series. This is the story of a cowboy and a woman on the run. They soon take a stand and fight for love.

“Threat Vector” by Tom Clancy with Mark Greaney, this is a thriller that will have you turning pages and turning in your sleep. A secret organization known as the Campus fights against America’s enemies. The Campus has been discovered and whoever knows it exits knows it can be destroyed. The members may not even have a chance to enter the battle before the world is consumed by war.

New Christian Fiction: “Under the Summer Sky” by Lori Copeland, this is the second book in the Dakota Diaries series. Forced together by unlikely circumstances, Trinity and Jones set off on an adventure that will include a plague of grasshoppers, an ornery circus elephant, and a motorcycle with a mind of its own.

“Full Disclosure” by Dee Henderson, this is a love story. Paul wonders just what secrets Ann is keeping, until she shows him the John Doe Killer case file. Then he starts to realize just who this lady he is falling in love with really is.

“When Breaks the Dawn” by Janette Oke, this story of faith in God and love for each other that has brought two together. This is book 3 in the Canadian West series, in large print.

“River of Mercy” by B.J. Hoff this is the third book in the Riverhaven Years series, “A Home in Drayton Valley” by Kim Vogel Sawyer, “A Vision of Lucy” by Margaret Brownley, this is the third Rocky Creek Romance, “Love Lifted Me” by Sara Evans, this is the third book in the Songbird series.

New Mysteries: “What the Cat Saw” by Carolyn Hart, and “The Buzzard Table” by Margaret Maron.

New Large Print: “Moonfire” by Linda Lael Miller, “Sunset Bridges” by Emilie Richards, and “Hidden in Dreams” & “Prayers of a Stranger” by Davis Bunn.

New Non-fiction: “That Kind of Journalist” by Stephen M. Vest, this is a collection of Vest’s ramblings from the Kentucky Monthly magazine.

“Let It Go” by T. D. Jakes, this book explores forgiveness as an idea and at the same time offers specific and clear actions for you to apply in your daily lives.

“The Adventure of English” by Melvyn Bragg, this is a biography of a language. This is a companion to the History Channel series.

“The Outpost” by Jake Tapper, this is an untold story of American valor. This is the gripping saga of a group of brave soldiers who were stationed at the Outpost.
