Grace was a patrolman from 2006 until January 2011, when he was promoted to sergeant, and after then-Chief Hollis Alexander was named as the new Trigg County Judge Executive, he applied for the open position.
He was nominated by Council member Todd King, a motion that Council member Frankie Phillips seconded and the vote was 6 - 0. Alexander swore him in at the end of the meeting.
"I'm honored, there was a good group of guys to choose from," he said, adding that he will "hit the ground running."
