Stan Humphries and Ruth Anne Mitchell were the county’s Judge Executive and Finance Officer, respectively, until the end of last year. Humphries was elected as the First District’s State Senator, replacing Ken Winters.
Cadiz Police Chief Hollis Alexander became the new judge executive, and Sergeant Chad Grace took his place as the new police chief.
Humphries started in January 2007, while Mitchell had worked for the county for 28 years.
At a reception held for the both of them on Sunday afternoon at the Trigg County Recreation Complex, Trigg County Treasurer Lucy Oliver said it had been a pleasure to serve with the both of them, having served with both of them for the past six years.
“He came in, and there were several storms that had to be weathered, whether it was actually storms or just things going on in the community. And I’m not sure we would have been able to get by if we hadn’t had a judge like Stan,” said Oliver.
