Funeral services for Betty Doris White Brewer, 80, of Hopkinsville, were held on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. Randy Meriwether officiated. Burial followed in the New Asia Cemetery in Herndon. Gamble Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Betty Brewer died of natural causes at 2:40 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.

She was born on May 26, 1933, in Christian County to Jessie and Mary Clardy White.

Betty was a homemaker, a home health aid, and was a member of New Asia Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She had worked at the Senior Citizens Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Douglas Brewer.

She is survived by one sister, Julia Gold (and husband John) of Clarksville, Tenn.; three sons, Mike Brewer (and wife Mary) of Cadiz, Stevie White of Hopkinsville and Ricky White of Arkansas; four daughters, Marilyn Brewer, Betty Dulin (and husband Charlie) and Rita Downey, all of Hopkinsville, and Kathy McGinnis (and husband Charles) of Louisville; 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
