Wiley Delawson died following a long illness at 10:20 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Baptist Health in Madisonville.
He was born on March 23, 1927, in Caldwell County to Wade and Ethel Oliver Delawson.
Mr. Delawson had worked as a truck driver for Smith Coal Co. He was a member of Wallonia Christian Church, a member of VFW Post No. 5595, a World War II veteran and a member of the American Legion Post No. 116.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ann Simpson Delawson; three brothers, Jewell, Gene and Orbie Delawson; and one sister, Susiebelle Oliver.
He is survived by four daughters, Paula Massey (and husband Harold) of Caldwell County, Sandy Sivells (and husband Ronnie) of Princeton, Susan Delawson of Princeton and Shirley Hargrove of Clemont, Fla.; six grandchildren, Michelle Sivells, Amy Gibson, Chris Sivells, Mike Melton, Melissa Chaney and Hiler Hargrove; 10 great-grandchildren, Leesha Jesko, Payton Plain, Clint Sivells, Cabbot Sivells, Chase Kessler, Bret Archbell, Justin Phelps, Chancie Chaney, Libby Melton and Jakeb Melton.
Serving as pallbearers were Billy Mitchell, Bennie Mashburn, James Butts, Creed Thurman, Tommy Dixon and Bill Robertson. Honorary pallbearers were his grandsons and great-grandsons.
