Funeral services for Ruby Alsbrooks, 89, of Providence, formerly of Cadiz, were held on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at Melton Funeral Home in Providence. Burial followed in Corinth Cemetery in Providence. Melton Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Ruby Melton died on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville.

Ruby was a member of Rocky Ridge Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Rex Alsbrooks; two sons, Leroy and Jerry Alsbrooks, one daughter-in-law, Sharon Alsbrooks; and two grandchildren, Shari and Steve Alsbrooks.

Ruby is survived by two sisters, Marie and Anna Alsbrooks both of Providence; one brother, Rev. Raymond Cummins of Providence; two sons, James Rex Alsbrooks (and wife Alana) of Cadiz and Wayne Alsbrooks of Providence; one daughter-in-law, Diana Alsbrooks of Providence; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
