Here is a recent finding. Senator John Bingham of Ohio, who was originally from Cadiz, was appointed to head the panel to investigate the assassination of President Lincoln. He was appointed by his long- time friend, Edwin Stanton, Secretary of War, who also was a native of Cadiz. I’ve been in and around Cadiz for over 60 years and a history buff for about that length of time, but I never knew this before. Does anyone know anything about these individuals?
