Funeral services for Thomas J. Rogers, 82, of Dunmor, formerly of the Rockcastle community of Trigg County, were held on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at King’s Funeral Home in Cadiz. Father Babu Joseph and The Rev. Gene Oller officiated. Music was provided by Clarissa King, pianist. King’s Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements. Visitation will be from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Schmidt Funeral Home in Erie, Pa., with funeral services at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Schmidt Funeral Home in Erie, Pa. Burial will follow in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Erie, Pa.

Thomas Rogers died of natural causes at 6:35 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at his daughter’s home in Rockcastle.

Thomas was born in Erie, Pa., to Maximillion Rogers and Rose Kroto Rogers.

Thomas was a retired veterinarian and was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. Thomas was a long- time Rotarian, member of the Pennsylvania Veterinarian Medical Association and the University of Pennsylvania Alumni Association. He was also a long-time participant in the Trigg County Farmers Market.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 61 years, June Rogers of Dunmor; one brother, Raymond Rogers of Erie, Pa.; one sister, Theresa Feasler of Girard, Pa.; two sons, Kris Thomas Rogers of Springboro, Pa. and Robert Michael Rogers of Cadiz; one daughter, Robin Anne Jergens (and husband Dan) of Cadiz; two grandchildren, Tara Lynn Vanderhoff of Madison, Ohio and Danielle Elaine Jergens of Cadiz; and two great-grandchildren.
