At 10:15 a.m. Thursday, people from Trigg County Emergency Management, Trigg County Weather Spotters and Trigg County Schools will participate in the drill. They will be among 700,000 people in Kentucky and 2.5 million in the states near the New Madrid Fault that will participate.
Those involved locally say they don’t go to a specific place for the drill; instead, at 10:15 a.m., they stop and hold on to something for a minute.
“We do not meet in a specific place for this drill. Some are at work, some are at home and some are just out and about,” said Trigg County Weather Spotter Ramona Hamilton. “We ask our spotters, where ever they may be, to drop, cover and hold on. With us being in the New Madrid Fault area, you can never be too prepared.”
Wade echoed those comments.
