BASKETBALL: Lady ‘Cats top CFS for first win of season

After opening the season with 21 consecutive losses, the Trigg County Lady Wildcats finally hit the W column Monday with a 36-15 win over Christian Fellowship School.

Seven Lady ‘Cats contributed points to the cause, led by Alyssa Stallons with eight points and 11 rebounds. Madison Chaney added seven points, six rebounds and three steals, Mallory Mize scored six, Jakashea Martin had five, Allison Greene scored four and rebounded seven, Deja Murphy scored four and Laurin Oliver had two.

Trigg led 6-1 after the first quarter, 17-3 at halftime and 25-7 after the third quarter.

Trigg lost 56-20 against Caldwell County on Friday’s Homecoming and Hall of Fame Night, then lost 63-27 at Mayfield on Saturday.

Trigg was set to play Tuesday at Todd County Central (results unavailable at press time) before finishing the regular season Thursday against Fort Campbell on Senior Night.
