The Trigg County Wildcats entered the final week of the regular season with a 15-8 record after a 75-31 win over Dawson Springs last Tuesday and an 83-60 win Friday over Caldwell County on Homecoming and Hall of Fame Night.

Against Dawson, the ‘Cats jumped out to a 22-8 lead and led 53-13 at halftime. Every Wildcat player that dressed also scored.

Deonquez Nance led the way with 25 points, followed by Cole Gardner with 16.

On Friday, the ‘Cats weathered a furious Caldwell comeback and pulled away in the second half. Trigg led 20-8 after the first quarter and pushed the lead to 29-12 in the second, but the Tigers went on a 22-8 run to cut the gap to three.

But Trigg never let them get any closer, using a 16-6 run to push the advantage back to 13 by the end of the quarter.

Nance torched Caldwell for a game-high 38 points, followed in double figures by Dee Murphy with 16 and Garnder with 15. David Wease led Trigg with eight rebounds and five blocked shots.
