Mr. Darnall died of natural causes at 12:18 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at his residence.
He was born on Feb. 14, 1936, in Lafayette to the late John William and Ethel Elizabeth Dickerson Darnall, Sr.
John William Darnall, Jr. was the owner and operator of Darnall Heating and Cooling in Cadiz for many years. He was a member of Cadiz Christian Church, where he was an elder and had served as a board member.
He was a member of Hopkinsville Art Guild, a Kentucky Colonel, member of Cadiz Trigg County Historical Society, Christian Men’s Fellowship, Civitan Club, and the National Air Condition Association. He also served as city water commissioner and showed and raised Tennessee Walking Horses.
John William Darnall, Jr. was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Nell Dunn Darnall; one son, John William Darnall, III; and one son-in-law, Nick Charles Thomas.
He is survived by one daughter, Dana Moore (and husband Chris) of Buna, Texas; grandchildren, Brandy and Brad Oldbury of Buna,Texas; great-grandchildren, Tiayali Marks, Rylan Cherry, Hannah Oldbury, Blake Oldbury and Haleigh Oldbury.
Serving as pallbearers were Harold Wilson, Chappell Wilson, Martha Steinbeck, Craig and Stephanie Perry, Wade Kadel, Wallace Blakeley, Paul Carr, Jackie Clark, Judy Davis and Dave Jones. Music was provided by Lennie Sanders, organist.
