When they met Thursday night, they unanimously approved three different BG-1s – one for the addition itself, one for a new HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) system for the building and another for a new roof for the building.
The estimated cost of all three projects combined is approximately $4,631,650. Trigg County School Superintendent Travis Hamby said they could have been bid together, but in case they weren’t, approving the separate forms now would help keep the project on course. He also said he thinks the total cost will be less than $4.6 million.
“We’re not sure where we’re going to go with bidding all those projects at one time, or how we want to manage that, if we want to do it as … alt bids onto the base of the eight classrooms. To separate this out gives us the flexibility to do any, all or whatever as we move forward,” Hamby said. “If we group them together as one, we would have to submit a revised BG-1 if we decide to do something different.”
