“They left it all on the floor,” Trigg head coach Amy Breckel said of her players. “I couldn’t be more proud of our team than I am.”
The Lady ‘Cats briefly held a 7-6 lead after a layup by Mallory Mize with 45 seconds left in the first quarter. From there, however, the No. 1 seed Lady Cardinals went on a 17-7 run to close the half with a nine-point lead.
Livingston pushed the gap to 15 points late in the third quarter, and Trigg fought back to cut the deficit to 37-28 on a jump shot by Madison Chaney early in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Cardinals answered with a 14-3 run to put the game away.
Mize led the Lady ‘Cats with 16 points, followed by seven from Jakashea Martin, five from Chaney, three from Alyssa Stallons and and two apiece from Taylor Gray and Lauren Oliver.
Devensively, Trigg struggled with Livingston center Hailee Lampley, who finished with a game-high 18 points.
