Funeral services for Ballard Bravell Maxie, 62, of Princeton, will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013, at Princeton First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ronnie Spry will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at the church. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton.

Ballard Maxie died of natural causes at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Caldwell Medical Center in Princeton.

He was born on Oct. 27, 1950, in Caldwell County to the late Douglas Maxie and the late Lou Ella Hamilton.

Mr. Maxie was a member of Princeton First United Methodist Church, where he served as chairman of trustees. He had been employed as a presser for a dry cleaning service. Ballard was also a member of the Dotson Park board.

He is survived by two brothers, Charles Maxie (and wife Tracy) and Bill Maxie; sisters Christle Phill, Cecila Pondexter (and husband Waldo), Ossie Mimms, Sonja Springfield (and husband James), Godiva Hopson and Joan Glover.
