Both the CPD’s School Resource Officer Dave Colbert and the Kentucky State Police’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement division responded, and CVE brought a K-9 unit, said KSP Officer Chris Green.
Cadiz Police Chief Chad Grace didn’t comment on any specifics, but did say that a “small amount” of marijuana was found at the school. “The teacher actually found it and reported it to our School Resource Officer,” Grace said. “There wasn’t anything else that we missed.”
Colbert, Grace said, talked to Trigg County School Assistant Superintendent James Mangels about bringing in a drug dog as a precautionary measure, but it discovered only the marijuana that was found when the student dropped it in the classroom.
