Funeral services for Dennis Earl “Gus” Acree, 54, of Cadiz, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Second Baptist Church in Cadiz. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service hour. The Rev. C.L. Terry will officiate. Burial will follow in Trigg Memory Acres. Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dennis Acree died on natural causes at 4:20 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013. at his home in Cadiz.

He was born on March 23, 1958, in Trigg County to Marvin Acree, Jr. and Emma Acree.

Dennis was employed by Lake Barkley where he worked as a custodian. He was a member of Second Baptist Church.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Acree, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Delores Johnson Acree of Cadiz; his mother, Emma Acree of Cadiz; three brothers, Lawrence Acree, Victor Acree (and wife Belinda) and Spencer Acree; one sister, Sonja Ladd, all of Cadiz; three sons, Michael Acree (and wife Shayna) of Tallahassee, Fla., Dennis Acree, Jr. of Columbus, Ga. and Gregory Acree of Live Oak, Fla.; two daughters, LaShonda Acree of Live Oak, Fla. and Peggy Hecht of Las Vegas, Nev.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
