For 2013, it’s a clean slate for the Lady Wildcats. The team looks to replace production from 2012 seniors Sierra Bush, Shanease Byers and Brianna Messmer, but Campbell never saw any of them play, nor any of the other Lady ‘Cats. That means all of this year’s players had to show what they’re made of to their new coach.
“The talent is there, but I don’t know that they’ve ever played as a team before,” Campbell said. “That’s what we’re focusing on building, the team concept. If we can get our leaders to step up and our younger girls to buy into it, we could be pretty good.”
Campbell said Trigg could see offensive improvement over a 2012 team that finished the season with four wins.
“From what I’ve seen in the cage, we could have four or five power hitters,” Campbell said, noting Brittney Hallgren and Te Stewart at the top.
