Virgil Barnett died of natural causes at 5:34 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz.
Virgil was born on Aug. 12, 1920, in Maxville, Kan., to the late Frank Barnett and Minnie Mae Smith Barnett.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Osborn Barnett; one sister, Jean Lee; and one brother, Joe Barnett.
Virgil is survived by one brother, Bill Barnett of Kansas; four sisters, Melba Foote, Mildred Strome, both of Kansas, Joyce Woodall of Jefferson City, Mo. and Margie Ann of Tulsa, Okla.; one son, Dallas Frank Barnett of McKenzie, Tenn.; two daughters, Della Barnett of Piqua, Ohio and Doradean Barnett of Montgomery, Ala.; three grandchildren, Billy Kearney, Jr. and Kenneth Kearney, both of Cadiz, and David Kearney of Freemont, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren, Shane DeLoach, Derek, Brooke, Jacob, Josef, Akia and Kacey Kearney and Kayla Brown; and one great-great-grandchild, Mallory DeLoach.
