Talking to what Trigg County Extension Agent David Fourqurean said was the largest Ag Dinner crowd yet, Turner told them that he admired “the will that you project.”
“You represent a long line of people, in the history of this great county, who have the will to make your life tilling the soil, to till the soil so that crops can be produced,” Turner said.
Turner talked about several figures in western Kentucky’s history, including William Kelly, George Boddie, Irving Cobb and Colonel Harlan Sanders. He also thanked those who contributed money towards the restoration of the Cerulean Springs.
Fourqurean presented the Friend of Agriculture award to former Farm Credit Services Manager Lindsey Champion, who retired last year.
