The Wildcats topped Mayfield 4-3 last Tuesday, lost 11-0 to Christian County on Thursday, won 14-11 Friday at Paducah Tilghman and topped Marshall County 3-2 on Saturday.
The two one-run victories were of the come-from-behind variety. Against the Marshals, Trigg trailed 1-0 entering the third inning, when the ‘Cats tied the score. They then took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the fourth and allowed only one more Marshall run. Senior David Wease pitched six strong innings for the win.
Against Mayfield, Trigg trailed 3-2 after two innings but tied the score in the third and scored the winning run in the sixth. Tyler Allen pitched five innings and got the win for the ‘Cats.
Trigg led 9-2 after the top of the fifth inning at Tilghman, but the Blue Tornado fought back and cut the gap to 9-7. The ‘Cats plated five runs in the top of the seventh. Tilghman scored four in the bottom of the frame but couldn’t complete the comeback.
