The wedding ceremony and celebration will take place from 1 – 3 p.m. and is included with Homeplace admission. The Homeplace is located in the Tennessee portion of Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area. Visitors get to participate in the wedding just like friends of the couple getting married.
This event brings to life an 1850’s country wedding, including customs, traditions, games, and festivities of the era with interpreters dressed in period clothing.
“Weddings were major social events for a community during the 1850s,” stated Cindy Earls, Special Events Coordinator for The Homeplace. “Everyone becomes involved in the celebration as guests of the farm family. They can play traditional wedding games, listen to music from the 19th Century, and share in wedding cake and cider. It’s a lot of fun!”
