If Trigg County wins another softball game this season, the 2013 Lady Wildcats will hold the school’s best record since a nine-win campaign in 2005. That year is also the last time Trigg won a 5th District Tournament contest.

The Lady ‘Cats entered Spring Break with a 4-2 record after Thursday’s 7-1 win at Mayfield.

Brittney Hallgren led Trigg on the mound, pitching a complete game and striking out a dozen Lady Cardinals. She also drove Trigg’s offense, finishing with a pair of triples, two runs batted in and a steal of home.

Allison Russell, Addison Rogers and Arianna Brown each drove in runs for Trigg..

After a 10-day break from game action, Trigg returns to the field Monday to host Livingston Central in the district opener for both squads.
