Funeral services for Greg “Atlas” Thomas, 54, of Cadiz, were held on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Rev. Norman Cotton officiated. Burial followed in Drury-Bridges Cemetery in Trigg County. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Greg Thomas died of natural causes at 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at his home.

He was born on Oct. 4, 1958, in Hopkinsville to Edward Mason Thomas.

Greg Thomas was a member of Liberty Point Baptist Church. He was employed by Bulkmatic in Hopkinsville, where he was a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Thomas; grandparents, Lucein and Mayma Thomas.

Greg Thomas is survived by twin sister Tresa Hooks of Cadiz; one daughter, Afton Tatum (and husband Derrick) of Hopkinsville; girlfriend Vicki Guier of Madisonville; grandchildren Jewels, Silas and Rhayna Tatum; nephew Jerry Hooks, Jr. of Cadiz and niece, Kelly Hooks, also of Cadiz.

Serving as pallbearers were Elliot “Bear” Gray, James “Peanut” Thomas, Ellis Meredith, Jerry Hooks, Jr., Dave Johnston and Jeff Blair. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Stroud, Ricky Hamilton, Buckey Oliver and David Hargrove.
