Proceeds from an inaugural “Mudbug Soiree” fundraiser that is being held at the Lake Barkley State Resort Park Pavilion will all go to the Fort Campbell USO (United Service Organization), says Karen Randall at Coldwell Banker.

Randall says they’re looking to sell more than 300 tickets at $25 apiece to the event, which will include a crawfish boil, music by Tim Lynch Band and a silent auction from 12 noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 27. She hopes for between 300 and 400 people.

“It’s a tremendous amount of fun. Kids love it. We picked crawfish because it’s fun, and I’m familiar with it. We will fly them (the crawfish) in, and then I’ll boil them,” said Randall. “We wanted to do a fundraiser, and so our office discussed it and just said, ‘crawfish sounds fun.’ I held three previous crawfish boils on my own.”

The USO is entirely self-funded and is there to assist active and servicemen and servicewomen, reservists and their families, be it with information, relaxation, or just “meeting their needs,” as Randall put it.
