Trigg County avoided an early exit from the 2nd Region All “A” Classic with some clutch hitting Monday.

The Wildcats topped Livingston Central 2-1 on a two-out, two-run double by Corbin Estes.

With Trigg trailing 1-0 with two outs, Brandon Wilson walked and Ben Wigand reached base on an error. Estes swung at the first pitch of his at-bat and sent it down the right field line.

“We were fortunate that we had the two fastest guys on the team on base in that situation,” Trigg head coach Tim Bush said.

Kuberski then completed a solid day on the mound for the ‘Cats. He pitched all seven innings, allowing six hits and striking out seven.

The win advances Trigg to a Tuesday semifinal matchup with University Heights Academy, a 9-4 winner over Lyon County. The winner of that game will face the winner between Crittenden County and Wesbter County in Thursday’s championship game.
