Donnie Jones died of natural causes at 12:20 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
Donnie was born on June 3, 1944, in Lyon County to the late Ralph Taylor and Nola Pearl McWaters Jones.
Donnie was a member of Caldwell Blue Spring Baptist Church. He was a United States Army veteran having served in Vietnam. He retired from Hopkinsville Housing Authority where he worked in maintenance.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Gillebeau and Mary Dobbins.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Carneyhan Jones of Cadiz; two brothers, Morris “CT” Jones and Lynn Jones, both of Cadiz; two sisters, Leta Gray of Princeton and Ernestine Hendricks of Murray; one daughter, Allison Shy (and husband Ted) of Bagdad; one step-daughter, Brandy Craig (and husband Tommy) of Cerulean; grandchildren, Caroline Shy, Austin, Stetson, Alex, Stephen and Justin Fields, Emalee and Cloie Craig, Dalton, Dakota, Callie and Chloe Overby.
Serving as pallbearers were Dennis, Stacey, Travis and Luke Carneyhan, Tommy Craig, Austin, Stetson and Stephen Fields. Honorary pallbearers were David, Jerry and Harvey Mitchell, Jeff Hite, Dennis Reddick and Jimmy Gray. Music was provided by Dana West, vocalist and Lanita Mitchell, pianist.
