On Saturday, members of the Trigg County High School football team went to Graves County High School for an event featuring Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.

“It was a great opportunity, and the Wildcats were also surprised by Bronco tight end Jacob Tamme, who talked to the players as a unit,” Trigg head coach Coby Lewis said.

Lewis said Manning called three people from the audience at the end of his speech, one of whom was Trigg wide receiver Brandon Wilson.

“He told Brandon he was going to throw an autographed ball and if Brandon caught the ball, he could keep it,” Lewis said. “Manning told Wilson to go to the other end of the gym, and without a warm-up and in a sport jacket, he threw the ball the length of the gym, hitting Wilson in the hands. Wilson caught the ball and got to keep it – opportunity of a lifetime.”
