Jolly Jones died following a short illness at 5:23 a.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Baptist Health of Paducah.
He was born in Christian County to the late Jolly B. Jones, Sr. and Pearl Routon Jones.
Jolly was a charter member of the East Cadiz Baptist Church where he served as a song leader, deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a retired painter and paper hanger.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Wallace Jones; three sisters, Judy Melton, Edna Broadbent and Charlene Rawls.
Jolly is survived by his wife of 66 years, Laura Pearl Mart Jones of Cadiz; one brother, John Kay Jones (and wife Maye) of Akron, Ohio; and two sons, Danny Jones (and wife Vicky) and Joe Jones (and wife Brenda), all of Cadiz; one daughter, Lois Jackson (and husband Stanley) of Princeton; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Gibson of Mayfield, Jarrod Jackson of Princeton, and John Jolly Jones, James Oakley Jones, Jeffery Jones, Jason Scott Jones and Justin Jones, all of Cadiz; and a number of great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jared Gibson, Jarrod Jackson, John Jones, James Jones, Jeffery Jones, Jason Jones and Justin Jones. Music will be provided by Martha Edwards, pianist.
