The Cadiz City Council’s Finance Committee recommended both budgets when it met Friday morning. The new budget sits at $4,246,778. Cadiz City Clerk Lisa Rogers said that includes a 3-percent raise for city employees but doesn’t include any tax increases. She also said the new insurance rates haven’t arrived yet.
Of that, $1,416,532 is allocated to the General Fund, $48,000 is allocated to the Municipal Aid Fund, $1,621,870 is allocated to the Water Fund.
The amended 2012/2013 budget sits at $4,249,672.02. The original budget sat at $3,907,778. Rogers says most of that increase is grants. “We had several grants come in that we weren’t expecting, which is good,” she said. However, she added that grants are still down significantly.
