Trigg cruised to a 21-1 win last Tuesday at Lyon County and a 12-0 win Thursday against Madisonville-North Hopkins before a 6-5 loss Monday at Crittenden County.
Against the Rockets, Trigg led 5-3 entering the bottom of the seventh inning, but Crittenden plated three runs to stay undefeated in the district. The loss left Trigg with a 17-9 overall record and a 4-2 mark in district play, essentially guaranteeing the ‘Cats the second seed in the district tournament later this month.
David Wease pitched a complete game for Trigg against the Rockets, allowing three earned and three unearned runs.
In the last three games, Trigg has been led at the plate by Trace Kuberski, who went a combined 8-for-12 with 12 runs batted in and a home run in each contest.
Wease knocked in a pair of runs against Crittenden and three against Lyon. Corbin Estes, Ean Sholar and Tyler allen each also had three RBIs against the Lyons.
