Open your home to an exchange student and open your lives to the world! Families have an opportunity to host a Japanese exchange student July 22 to Aug. 13.

One Japanese student will be matched per family based on host siblings, gender, age and interests.

There are also opportunities to host adult chaperones for 2 or 4 weeks. Families who host chaperones are not required to have children in the home.

You don’t have to be involved with 4-H to host; you just need a willingness to share to your home and your world.

There is no need to know Japanese. The students have all studied English and are anxious to use it.

“The program gives host families a chance to share their culture, friendship, and family life with an exchange student and at the same time learn about Japanese life,” said Mark Mains, Extension Specialist for 4-H Youth Development. “The home stay only last a month during summer vacation, but the effects a lifetime.”
