Funeral services for Herman “Buck” Anderson, 87, of Cadiz, formerly of Fulshear, Texas, were held on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. Pastor Gene Oller officiated. Burial followed in Trigg Memory Acres. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Herman Anderson died following a short illness at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at his home.

He was born on Oct. 7, 1925, in Walsh to the late Roland and Dixie Webb Anderson.

Herman “Buck” Anderson was a member of Needville Community Church in Needville, Texas. He was a United States Army veteran having served in WWII. He was the former owner and operator of Anderson’s Market for 35 years.

Mr. Anderson was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, where he was a 32 degree Mason and a member of the Rosenberg Masonic Lodge No. 881 F. & A.M. in Rosenberg, Texas. He was also a member of the Moslem Shrine Temple of the Valley of Detroit.

Hi was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel James Anderson; three brothers, Homer, John and Hobart; three sisters, Nola Hurley, Roma Hurley and Ruby Stone; and one grandchild, Tracy Davis Welle.

He is survived by one daughter, Linda Davis of Cadiz; one son, David Anderson (and wife Donna) of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Alena Anderson and Douglas Davis; and three great-grandchildren, Zachary Welle, Benjamin Welle and Grace Davis. Music was provided by Clay King, pianist and vocalist.
