It will likely be at two more weeks before 56th Circuit Judge C.A. “Woody” Woodall III makes a final ruling on an issue regarding blocked access roads in the Linton area.

However, a “preliminary” ruling, or a “partial decision,” made on Thursday, April 25, the day after a trial on the issue, Timbervest/River Oak is permanently “enjoined” – that is, forbidden – from putting up gates on a portion of Fire Tower Road along the northern portion of Harrell Road and McCoy Hollow Road.

Woodall said he would make a final ruling 30 days after the trial. His April 25 injunction states that that decision will involve the “disputed area” of Fire Tower Road from Old Dover Road to the intersection of McNichols Road at the Harrell/Harrol Loop Road.

Years ago, Timbervest/River Oak bought property off of Ky. 164 in southern Trigg County and then blocked access to several roads, claiming they are privately owned.

At Monday evening’s Trigg County Fiscal Court meeting, no action was taken, but Trigg County Attorney Randy Braboy, who called the April 25 injunction a “partial win,” talked about the trial in particular and this issue in general, which involves primarily about 5.5 miles of Fire Tower Road, a gravel road.
