On behalf of the Pennyrile Allied Community Services/Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, I am once again extremely humbled and grateful to so many people and organizations that helped make this year’s Taster’s Choice Fundraiser such a success. We sold all 200 of our tickets before the event began! The evening’s highlight was the delicious tastings provided by local restaurants and caterers.
Due to federal funding losses, RSVP has had to find additional ways to help fund our retired and senior volunteer programs. RSVP volunteers in Trigg and Christian Counties volunteered over 34,000 hours in their communities. Our goal is to continue providing vibrant seniors who volunteer at so many non-profit organizations. The success of the Taster’s Meal event will help us in reaching this goal.
Thanks to the following vendors for providing absolutely delicious (and substantial) tastings: Adams Breezy Hill Farms and Restaurant, Applebee’s, Bar-B-Q Shack, El Bracero, Gary’s Pizza on Main, Hancock’s Delightfully Delicious Deli, House of Spice, James E Bruce Convention Center, Jack McGee’s Catering, Papa Murphy’s Pizza, Pizza Hut, Reva’s Place, Ryan’s Family Steak House, Southern Belle Café, Starbucks, and Taste of Heaven.
Thanks also goes to those who supported this endeavor, including The Cadiz Record, WKDZ Radio, Kentucky New Era, Trigg and Christian County Chambers of Commerce, Trigg County RSVP Advisory Committee, Trigg County Churches, Cadiz and Hopkinsville Rotary Clubs, Wild Zebra, Juice Plus, Pampered Chef, Origami Owl, Avon, Scentsy, Body by Visalis and Amy Allen. Thanks to the Trigg County Schools for allowing us to use the cafeteria for our event and to the staff who assisted us.
When you have a chance, please support all of the people and businesses who participated in making the Taster’s Choice Fundraiser a success. Trigg County is an awesome community and it’s all of you who make it that way. Thank you!
Terry Doyle, PACS/RSVP
